Minister for Communities and Returns in the Kosovo government Dalibor Jevtić, who dwells in a two-day visit in Montenegro, appealed on displaced persons with the temporary residence in that state to return to Kosovo.

Minister Jevtić met in Podgorica with the Montenegrin Minister for Labor and Social Welfare Predrag Bosković and discussed results of the project on return of displaced from Montenegro to Kosovo which is implemented with assistance of the EU Office in Kosovo and Ministry for Communities and Return.

“Positive cooperation between two governments over the project on returnees is an example how problems of displaced persons could be addressed through joint efforts. I appeal on all displaced from Kosovo, who are dwelling in Montenegro to return to Kosovo, while two governments will assist them in the process,” said Jevtić after the meeting.

Jevtić stressed that good cooperation between two ministries is showing tangible results in the last year after process of return of displaced persons from Montenegro to Kosovo was finally launched. He added that all activities planned for 2013 were implemented as agreed during his last visit to Podgorica.

Minister Bosković said that government of Montenegro is planning construction of buildings for displaced persons in Nikšić municipality, whereas similar projects are expected in Podgorica, what will help addressing problems of displaced persons who wish to stay in Montenegro.

Bosković also acquainted Minister Jevtić with the initiative of Montenegrin government to register all displaced persons who would be granted the status of foreigners with the temporary residence or permanent residence in Montenegro and added that there are around 40  per cent of displaced who are not registered yet.
