Three persons have so far died in Kosovo from infection with the H1N1 virus, known as swine flu.

A woman who was being treated in the Pristina hospital for a lung infection was reported to have been infected with H1N1 virus. Doctors said the woman in question was pregnant. “I can confirm that we have the third victim from H1N1 in Kosovo. She is a patient from Kaçanik,  who had pulmonary  embolism, but who was also affected by the flu,” informed an official of the Clinical University Center of Kosovo.

Since the beginning of the year, 40 persons were reported in Kosovo to have been infected by the virus, from the beginning of this year.  Three people have not survived the flu which attacks lower respiratory tract, known as “swine influenza.”
