Prime Minister Hashim Thaci in an interview for Klan Kosova “Zona B”, tried to avoid the question regarding the establishment of a tribunal for KLA.

He denied having met American prosecutor, Clint Williamson, who is investigating allegations raised by former Swiss senator, Dick Marty. At the same time, he called Marty’s allegations “science fiction.”

“Government of Kosovo has nothing to hide. We have given support to Williamson’s investigation. Our justice is led by internationals, our judicial institutions are functional. Kosovo should not be an exception from the countries in the region. Serbia has committed genocide in Kosovo. We were the victims. Kosovo has its own justice institutions and all international organisations are in Kosovo,” said Thaci.

Asked on his stance on the offence caused to Kosovo if a Tribunal is established outside Kosovo and not in Pristina, Thaci said: “We are a sovereign country and Kosovo institutions will have the final say.”

To the question on how Kosovo Assembly would vote in the issue of the Tribunal’s establishment, Thaci reiterated that Kosovo is a sovereign country and added that he didn’t believe that “a decision detrimental to Kosovo would be taken.”

Kosovo PM Thaci also said that he will once again run for prime minister not because of the ego of being prime minister but because of other developments that the state of Kosovo needs to undergo.

“The third mandate, after rounding up the state-building, will be a mandate of continuing economic development and the work on Kosovo’s integration in NATO and United Nations. I have long overcome the pleasure of being a prime minister,” said Thaci.

He also stressed that he cannot afford to leave the governing to the wrong people and that he will not flee the responsibility of continuing to serve the people and citizens of Kosovo.
