Russian Ambassador to Tirana, Leonid Abramov, gave a press conference today about the situation in Ukraine. Abramov said there was a coup d’état in Ukraine and that the opposition failed to respect the agreements.
Asked to comment on the comparison between Crimea and Kosovo, Abramov was quoted as saying, “this comparison does not stand and this is my personal opinion on the matter”.
Asked several times by reporters on when Russia could recognize Kosovo’s independence as President Putin has drawn parallels between Crimea and Kosovo, Abramov said he was not authorized to comment on the issue.
