Lumir Abdixhiku, executive director of Pristina-based Riinvest Institute, argues in his opinion piece that in 2010, seeking another term in office, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci had promised among other things full integration in NATO, visa liberalization, a new power plant, a super-modern stadium in Pristina, doubling of the budget and the law on war veterans in the first month of his second term. Abdixhiku further notes that Thaci’s promises for the upcoming elections are made in the same fashion. “Four years later, we are going to have to list promises that were not kept. And four years later, if he gets elected again, we will have to ask ourselves if we were all really naïve to allow ourselves to be treated this way or if he was super-naïve to believe this?”
