In an interview for RTK, German Ambassador to Kosovo, Peter Blomeyer, said Kosovo and the European Union are holding negotiations for the establishment of the war crimes court. Blomeyer said Kosovo’s readiness to establish the court would show that the country does not fear investigations into war crimes allegations.

Asked to comment on upcoming parliamentary elections, Blomeyer said elections should be held in December and that if an earlier date is decided then parliament should be dismissed. “The regular timetable for elections is in December, so if we have elections before that date then parliament should be dismissed. This can be done by parliament with 2/3 of the majority vote or with a vote of mistrust which requires a simple majority. Whoever wants to dismiss parliament before the regular date for elections, needs to take into account the tasks that this parliament needs to finish first. I think this is important for us, for Germany, but also for the international community in general,” Blomeyer said.
