On the sixth anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Kosovo, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said the government has managed to lay the foundations of a democratic state throughout the territory. “Today marks the sixth anniversary of the Constitution of our Republic, one of the most advanced constitutions and an act that upholds democratic values. Six years ago, on April 9, Parliament adopted the constitution and this marks the most important day after the declaration of independence … As an obligation from the first chapter of the Constitution, we managed to wield sovereignty and guarantee territorial integrity with our police officers in all border crossings, including Jarinje and Bërnjak,” Thaci said. Thaci also said that after the security sector review, the decision was made to transform the Kosovo Security Force into the Armed Forces of Kosovo. He said he was confident that members of parliament will adopt the necessary constitutional amendments on Thursday.
