Belgrade – The participation of Kosovo in the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) aims the strengthening of regional cooperation, said to Danas associates of Deputy Prime Minister Kori Udovički, commenting on her participation in the SEECP meeting in Bucharest, when the decision was made on equal treatment of Kosovo in this regional initiative.

The office of Deputy Prime Minister explains that starting with the Treaty of regional representation and cooperation and the Brussels Treaty, during the Romanian presidency of SEECP, several informal and formal meetings were organized, including at the ministerial level, on which Kosovo was invited as a special guest, while respecting the principle of status neutrality.

“On this occasion, at a summit in Bucharest on 25 June, ‘Kosovo *’ was invited as a special guest and was presented by Atifete Jahjaga. The summit adopted a Declaration inviting ‘Kosovo *’ to continue to participate, following the principle of universal inclusiveness, which is applied in the process of cooperation in South East Europe”, state associates of the Deputy Prime Minster.

As pointed out in her cabinet, further participation of Kosovo is based on the invitation of the SEECP participating countries, without modification of statutory documents, and the participation is in order to contribute to the strengthening of regional cooperation, stability and security in the region.

“As far as the attitude of the Deputy Prime Minister on meeting in Bucharest, she thinks this is just another step towards the normalization of relations in the region”, said the associates of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Instructions

Recall, diplomatic sources of Danas reported that the Deputy Prime Minister Udovicki at a meeting in Bucharest complied with the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Serbia. According to our respondents, the rules require that in such situations MFA prepares a platform for the participation of representatives of the state, which gives precise instructions on how will be acted, which then approves the Government of Serbia.
