Jevtic: Srpska List against new elections

(Most monitored broadcasters, KTV)

Srpska List is against new elections. Representative of this political entity Dalibor Jevtic said that a new government in Kosovo should be established as soon as possible, and that another new process will prolong solution of all problems that the country faces.

The OSCE Ambassador in Kosovo Jean-Claude Schlumberger also said that he is against elections and in favour of establishment of a new government in Kosovo, at the earliest time possible.

“I think that you will get this response from the Court. I believe it is important that we get out of the institutional crisis that Kosovo is currently in. I also think that new elections are not a solution for the situation we are in. Kosovo and Kosovan society should have a new government, in order for it to start solving all the problems of our society. By entering new electoral process, Kosovo will only prolong solution of all problems,” Jevtic said.

“I just want to say that I hope that we will soon get out of the current situation here in Kosovo, which is a blocked situation. However, I will certainly not make any comments in relation to what is happening today. I have a lot of respect for institutions and the Constitutional Court. I also believe that good decisions will be taken. As I said earlier, it is important for Kosovo to have a new government. At present, there is an outgoing government. We hope that this situation will not last very long. I hope that a decision will be taken soon,” Ambassador Schlumberger stated.

Ambassador Schlumberger and Jevtic made these comments after a meeting where they discussed about economic and security situation of Serb citizens.

They also discussed about preparation of a regional meeting for the displaced persons, where talks with relevant institutions in Serbia, Montenegro and Macedonia will be held.

According to minister Jevtic, there are many challenges related to return of citizens that the ministry he leads is not managing to overcome.

Ambassador Schlumberger, on the other hand, said that the Organization he represents and Ministry of communities and returns focus on the property and language rights, return conditions and wellbeing of displaced citizens.

PDK, LDK-AAK-Nisma and VV presented their arguments to Constitutional Court

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

PDK and the LDK-AAK-Nisma bloc presented their arguments at the Constitutional Court regarding the Assembly constitutive session of July 17 and election of Isa Mustafa as Assembly Speaker.

PDK MP Arsim Bajrami considered Isa Mustafa’s election as Assembly Speaker an illegal process which was followed with many violations, saying that the right to participation was denied to 37 MPs of PDK caucus.

However, Vjosa Osmani, representative of LDK-AAK-Nisma bloc, said that Mustafa’s election was constitutional and that the Constitutional Court should also recognize this decision in its final judgment.

With her arguments presented, Vetëvendosje representative Albulena Haxhiu said that the Constitutional Court does not have the right to review Assembly’s work, as, according to her, its work is determined by Assembly’s regulation.

During this hearing, PDK threatened at least four times with new elections.

After the Court’s hearing, AAK representative Ardian Gjini told reporters that there will not be new elections.

“Forget about elections. There will not be new elections. These are completely lame speculations. These speculations are only stressing Kosovo citizens,” Gjini said.

Constitutional Court’s decision regarding this matter is expected to be taken next week.

Kostic: Srpska List is open to all political parties

(RTK2, Klan Kosova)

Vladeta Kostic of Srpska List said that this political entity represented at the Assembly of Kosovo is waiting to hear what the Constitutional Court has to say about 17 July constitutive session of the Assembly of Kosovo to decide if they will change their stance or not.

“Constitutional Court’s decision should be in compliance with the law. This situation was created because the law on elections is bad. The Court should recognize people’s vote, so the Assembly Speaker and PM designate go to those that have the majority at the Assembly. This is simple mathematics,” Kostic said.

Kostic said that his Serb MP colleagues are open to all political parties, no matter that on 17 July they supported LDK-AAK-Nisma bloc. Nonetheless, according to Kostic, Srpska List will have its conditions for those that will compose the majority.

According to Kostic, new elections should not happen in Kosovo.

Borchardt: Only criminals do not want EULEX

(RTK1)

EULEX presence in the north has become intolerable for Serbs of this area. However, this Mission does not think of leaving, although there are such calls from Serbs.

Head of EULEX Bernd Borchardt said that only criminals and political radicals do not want them in the north. While he criticized this anti-EULEX approach, Borchardt commended the work of Kosovo Police for arresting terrorism suspects.

In an interview with RTK1, Borchardt said that report of the Special Investigative Task Force Prosecutor Clint Williamson is very clear and it should not be misinterpreted.
