Lumir Abdixhiku, director of the Pristina-based research institute Riinvest, argues in his opinion piece that “the unification of opposition parties in one camp gives meaning to good governance for Kosovo and to the Albanian majority”. The unification of the opposition also gives guarantees for the overall political will in the country. This unification of political parties not only channels all anti-government sentiments in the country but also increases the chance for a meaningful opposition alternative. Abdixhiku further suggests that the unified bloc should sacrifice the post of Assembly President in order to get the government. “The election of the Assembly President would immediately pave way to the election of the Prime Minister – which without a doubt and with full support from the first interpretation of the Constitution – belongs to the unified bloc,” Abdixhiku notes.
