Pristina has breached all deadlines (Vecernje Novosti)

The end of political ‘games’ is not on sight when it comes to creation of the Kosovo institutions. Four months have passed after elections and there is no agreement on division of power.

Postponement of the Kosovo parliament’s session ‘until further notice’ has only contributed to animosities amongst Albanian parties, whereas only an agreement or political deal amongst them could prevent new parliamentary elections. However, deadlines, which would push Kosovo leaders to come out of party trenches, apparently don’t exist! Election results, which took place on 8 June, were verified on 4 July when the 30 days deadline for constitution of the parliament had started. Three months have passed ever since!

The MP from the Serbian List Slobodan Petrovic explained to Novosti that decision of the Constitutional Court to suspend all decisions made on the first constitutive session of the parliament has actually ‘frozen the time’.

“Now we are running around in vain since court didn’t set any deadlines for future motions, and there are no deals, either. Even if the session would take place today the Assembly Speaker wouldn’t be elected. This situation can’t continue endlessly and Albanian parties should either reach an agreement in next couple days or we’ll have to go to elections,” explained Petrovic.

MPs from the Serbian List didn’t participate in last Friday informal gathering in the parliament upon an initiative of the Democratic League of Kosovo since, as explained by the President of the Serbian List Aleksandar Jablanovic, they are waiting official call from the parliament administration. He added that the Serbian List also expects from President of Kosovo to resolve all dilemmas.
