Kosovo will need two more weeks to have all its new institutions, which will come out of 8 June elections, in place. This at least what heads of PDK-LDK coalition, Hashim Thaçi and Isa Mustafa, told Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga in their joint meeting held on Tuesday.

A press release issued by the Office of the President says that Thaçi and Mustafa have informed Jahjaga that their political entities and working groups for harmonizing the co-governing coalition will be ready to convene the Assembly’s session on 8 December to elect bodies of this institution, to vote the Government and the governance program.

It was also said that Tuesday’s meeting was called to learn about the most recent developments related to preparations for establishment of new Assembly and Government.

President Jahjaga called on them not to lose time, but to establish institutions until the end of this month.

It seems that PDK is not rushing for Prime Minister’s post. It continues to refrain itself from telling who will be the PM designate of the PDK-LDK coalition. PDK chairperson Hashim Thaçi did not reply to this question on Tuesday, when asked who will get this post.

Following the PDK caucus meeting held on Tuesday, the PDK chairperson Hashim Thaçi said that this caucus strongly supports the agreement reached with LDK.

“It is an agreement of political parties with common values, parties of right centre, which will constitute stable institutions, good, effective, and efficient governance, and will combat corruption and organised crime,” Thaçi said.

Meanwhile, in a short interview with Klan Kosova, Isa Mustafa simply said that he will be the new Prime Minister of Kosovo.

Political party leaders and the US Ambassador to Kosovo Tracey Ann Jacobson said that there was no international interference in the PDK-LDK agreement, RTK1 reported.

Hashim Thaçi and Isa Mustafa refrained from talking about PM’s post while meeting the parliamentary minorities. Minority representatives said that they did not discuss any specific issues, such as the Prime Minister’s post and ministerial posts in the meeting with Thaçi and Mustafa, and they were only informed about the agreement.

Mahir Yagcilar underlined that by Constitution, a minister’s post belongs to non-Serb communities.

Nenad Rasic also said that they did not discuss about division of posts, but rather for the agreement reached in general, and establishment of new institutions.

Jablanovic: Srpska List ready for negotiations with PDK-LDK

Srpska List says it is waiting for an official invitation for negotiations for its involvement in the PDK-LDK government coalition.

Aleksandar Jablanovic, President of Srpska List, which has ten MPs at the Assembly of Kosovo told Serbian media that he will meet PDK and LDK on Wednesday or Thursday to discuss sooner establishment of future government and participation of Serbs in this government.

Jahjaga: End violence against women

(TV21)
