Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric, along with the Assistant Director in the Department of Culture Dusan Jovovic, met in Belgrade with Austrian writer and screenwriter Peter Handke. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Serbian people, Djuric thanked Handke for “unfailing love, support and help which he unobtrusively offers to Serbia and especially to Kosovo and Metohija”.

“Marko Djuric introduced Handke with the activities of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and the plans to overcome the difficulties that Serbian people in Southern Province are facing. Djuric also spoke about the cultural policy and the situation at the university, which is temporarily located in Kosovska Mitrovica,” was said in a statement.

During last week’s visit to Kosovo, Peter Handke donated 50,000 euros for building a swimming pool in Velika Hoca.
