The United States Embassy in Pristina issued a communiqué today welcoming the passing and signing into law the legislation that prohibits Kosovars from fighting abroad. “The United States Embassy extends its warm congratulations to President Jahjaga and the Kosovo Assembly on the passing and signing into law the Foreign Terrorist Fighter legislation. This legislation is an important instrument in a broader strategy of fighting violent extremism. The United States values its partnership with Kosovo in the global fight against violent extremism, and will continue working with Kosovo to promote government-wide cooperation and an interagency strategy to combat it,” the press release noted.
