The Mayor of North Mitrovica Goran Rakic rebutted allegations carried by Pristina-based Kosovapress agency that main bridge over the Ibar/Ibër River will soon open one line for traffic, and that Peace Park will be removed. He said that he is going to sue the author of the text and Kosovapress agency.

Kosovapress agency yesterday reported, and RTK carried, that ‘obstacle’ over the main bridge on Ibar/Ibër River will stay until 18 June, the day when it was placed a year ago, and that traffic will open in one line. Information was allegedly confirmed by mayors of South and North Mitrovica, Agim Bahtiri and Goran Rakic, respectively.

This is another lie in a row used by Pristina authorities and media, obvious and dangerous political spin aiming at destabilizing situation and causing unrest in already ‘boiling’ Mitrovica, and effort aiming first of all to artificially provoke ‘chance’ for unilateral decision over something for which there is no consent of two sides, said Rakic in a statement forwarded to Kontakt Plus Radio.
