The paper’s columnist Enver Robelli writes that almost for 25 years as an independent country, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) has held more or less a racist attitude towards the Albanians.“Today in Skopje rules a Prime Minister suspected of various crimes against Albanians. For Albanians it is terrible that their political leaders have turned into Gruevski’s servants for years,” Robelli writes. According to him, the chance for a FYROM of equal citizens exists now, but that this chance could fail if the opposition does not understand that there is no FYROM without Albanians.

“Times have changed thanks to the European integration. The opposition leader, Zoran Zaev, needs to understand this. It is not required from him to learn Albanian in the next two-three years, but at least to understand that FYROM would not exist if it cannot guarantee the full equality of Albanians,” notes Robelli.  On the other hand, Robelli writes that the Albanians also should abandon the role of victim and should rise up and fight for their rights. “FYROM has two paths ahead: either to continue the relationship with Gruevski ‘s organized crime and corruption, or to head towards the European integration, leaving behind the slavery.”
