The paper’s front page editorial today writes that Kosovo opposition suspects that the ruling coalition is bargaining with the representatives of the Serbian List to enable the establishment of the Kosovo Armed Forces (KAF) after the establishment of the special court. The paper also writes that the government’s lack of transparency makes more serious the allegations of the opposition parties for political conspiracies that might occur in the coming weeks.
“In fact, it is regrettable if the establishment of the Armed Forces remains at the mercy of the Serb minority, which since the creation of the Serbian List, was more uncooperative than ever. Special court and KAF are two separate issues which don’t have to be linked with each other. The Serbian List, which operates under the instructions of Belgrade, is interested to keep the impact of Serbia in Kosovo’s policy making, sabotaging the Kosovo institutions.”
The paper further notes that the army, as “one of the most important attributes of the state, is deliberately being obscured by the Serbs, but Kosovo politicians must not back of or make bargains for its establishment.”
