Representatives of the Student’s parliament in North Mitrovica and those of the NGO organization ‘Serbs for Serbs’ were prevented last night from delivering humanitarian aid to the Hospital in North Mitrovica at the administrative crossing Jarinje since a transportation vehicle didn’t have a license issued by Kosovo authorities.

Following a four-hours lasting efforts to cross the administrative line, students and NGO representatives have only managed to ‘save’ the shipment from confiscation by Kosovo customs and transport the humanitarian aid back to Serbia proper, to the nearby town Raska.

Web portal Kosovo Sever (KoSSev) reported that humanitarian aid amounting to EUR 8.000, consisting of medical instruments, will stay there until a ‘humanitarian’ solution is not found in coming days.

Funds were collected through an SMS humanitarian action staged by the NGO ‘Serbs for Serbs’ aimed at providing necessary equipment to the North Mitrovica Hospital Maternity Unit.
