The Association of Kosovo Journalists (AKJ) reacted to yesterday’s attack on photojournalists of Koha Ditore and Indeksonline by a Kosovo Police officer in Mitrovica. “On behalf of the journalists, AKJ reminds the KP that it is unacceptable to attack and prevent journalists in carrying out their duties. Institutions are called upon to create safe conditions for journalists, not to hinder the independent exercise of their profession. Any attempt to block their work, means violating the freedom of speech,” read the press release issued by the AKJ. Koha also reports that the KP officer who attacked the journalists today was suspended from his duties.
