It is in the interest of Serbia to close, as soon as possible, the technical dialogue with Pristina and start negotiations on chapter 35 with the EU, said political analyst Dušan Janjić.

Janjić said that there is a possibility for technical issues to be solved on 23 June (Z/CSM, bridge, electricity, telecommunication), which are in fact on the table as of 2011, however he added that there are and new unsettled issues, which are not a condition for opening the chapter 35.

“From this reason international community recommends developing of a new agreement on principles, some would name it Brussels 2,” said Janjić to Tanjug, and added that it is in the interest of Serbia that there is a document which would summarize what we did, and what remains to be done.

He went on to say that all that remains to be done would be shifted to chapter 35, and would be implemented through the EU accession process.

Janjić explained that the sole atmosphere of a ‘D’ day created in the eve of the meeting of Serbian and Kosovo prime ministers in Brussels on 23 June only confirms that talks in Brussels and Serbian-Kosovo relation is still very important and hot issue.
