A lot of debate, accusations and counter-accusations followed the motion of Kosovo foreign minister Hashim Thaçi on demarcation of Kosovo border with Montenegro.

Opposition MPs blamed Thaçi for this situation, while he said that Kosovo will not lose any metre of land.

This motion which planned to happen on Thursday morning, started only after 15:00hrs, upon the request of FM Hashim Thaçi.

In the meantime, RTK1 reported that with 72 votes in favour, nine votes against and no abstention the Assembly of Kosovo approved the draft-resolution presented by the AAK caucus leader Donika Kadaj-Bujupi. The draft-resolution stipulates respect of Kosovo borders with Montenegro in line with the Constitution of 1974.

During a visit to Shillovë village, Kosovo minister for communities and return, Dalibor Jevtic said that the return of internally displaced persons (IDPs) should not be in a second plan.

During his visit to this area, Jevtic also met with Gjilan/Gnjilane Mayor Lutfi Haziri and representatives of this municipality. Jevtic discussed the issue of IDP return with these representatives.

Minister Jevtic also laid the foundation stone of a new house for Serb family which is living in Shillovë collective center since 17 March 2004.

Jevtic underlined that return process is highly important. He said that there are two more families in Shillovë collective center for which as solution must be found.

“It is important to us that Serbs not to leave Kosovo. It is important to us that Serbs stay in Kosovo, and the things that we are doing fall within this goal. As long as there will be persistence and trust on what we tell people, we will have results,” he said.

On the other hand, Gjilan/Gnjilane Mayor Lufti Haziri said that the municipality he leads supports the return of all its citizens, no matter if they are Serb or Roma ethnicity, or if they are in Skopje, Bujanovac, or elsewhere in Serbia.

Ministry of communities and return plans to return between 500 and 700 IDPs to Kosovo within this mandate.

Kosovo Anti-corruption Agency (KACA) drew the lottery with names of 20% of Kosovo officials that will undergo full control of property.

KACA director Hasan Preteni complained about the inability to investigate property of Kosovo officials abroad, mentioning the case of Albania, with which they do not cooperate due to missing legislation.

During the day, Kosovo Law Institute (KLI) published a periodical assessment report on efficiency of prosecutorial system in implementing the action plan for corruption cases, which states that not even of cases addressed to Kosovo Prosecution have not been solved.

On Thursday, the UK Ambassador to Kosovo, Ruairi O’Connell also spoke about corruption. According to him, results are far from the expectations.

Prescription of cases one of the biggest problems of justice system

(KTV)

12.556 cases have been prescribed between 2001 and last year, out of them 2.052 only in 2014.

This remains one of the biggest problems of the justice system. Because the cases are not treated in due time, or when the convicted persons flee Kosovo and Police does not manage to stop them, than with the laws in force these cases become untouchable.

Due to this, the case of former Post and Telecom of Kosovo (PTK) director, Leme Xhema, has expired these days and she can freely return to Kosovo.
