PM Mustafa pelted with eggs again

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

He was talking about raspberries and benefits that Podujevë/Podujevo, a LDK stronghold, has from their growing. However, during his speech, Prime Minister Isa Mustafa was pelted with two eggs. Both these eggs were pelted by the Vetëvendosje activist in Podujevë/Podujevo, B.M, who was later escorted to police station together with another activist of this Movement.

But, this incident did not make any impression on Mustafa, who continued his speech saying that eggs and raspberries do not have much in common.

Through a press release issued, Vetëvendosje Movement said: “Isa Mustafa is protecting his Association under any condition and even when the Serbian officials, with whom he has reached the agreement, call our country ISIS and hinder any international initiative. Isa Mustafa continues to be sworn on the Association.”

While leaving the event, Mustafa was quoted as saying, “Eggs do not bother me. Most importantly, things are going well.”

Opposition: Brussels agreements impede Kosovo more than the blockade

(KTV)

The blockade that the opposition is doing to the Assembly might also put Kosovo at risk in its integration processes. This fear was voiced by the Minister of Integrations, Bekim Çollaku.

He spoke about this issue in Kosovo media, while calling on all political actors not to create obstacles on Kosovo’s integration process, as this would impede the integration process of Kosovo.

But, opposition says that Kosovo will be damaged way more from the Brussels agreements; therefore, they do not consider their actions as obstacles to the integration process.

Dardan Molliqaj of Vetëvendosje considered explanations that Kosovo will be integrated through the Brussels dialogue as untrue. He says that Kosovo has made concessions for five years, while Serbia currently has the candidate status and the date of negotiations with the European Union.

The AAK caucus leader, Donika Kadaj Bujupi, also says that nothing will penalize Kosovo more than if implementation of these agreements will be allowed to happen.

No matter what the ruling parties say, the opposition does not plan to back down from their position and they have announced that they will continue the blockade even in the Assembly’s session scheduled for 8 October.

Ambassador Viets: Forget visa liberalisation if you hold elections

(All monitored broadcasters, KTV)

German Ambassador in Kosovo Angelika Viets said she is worried by the announcement for holding new elections in Kosovo. According to Viets, if this happens than Kosovo can forget visa liberalisation.

This statement of Ambassador Viets was published in the official page of German Embassy in Prishtinë/Pristina.

Çollaku: Kosovo expects from EU to move ahead with visa liberalisation

(RTK1 & TV21)

Kosovo has met the criteria set and with reason it expects from EU to move ahead with recommendation for visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens and signing of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.

This was stated by the Kosovo Minister of Integrations, Bekim Çollaku, during the meetings he had with Dutch and Hungarian Ambassadors to Kosovo Gerrie Willems and Laszlo Markusz.

Willems and Markusz reiterated the supportive stance of their countries toward European agenda of Kosovo.

President Jahjaga received the Rapporteur for Kosovo Agustin Conde

(RTK1, TV21)

The President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, met on Tuesday with the Rapporteur for Kosovo at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Agustin Conde.

She informed Conde about the commitment of Kosovo institutions for implementation of the reforms on the path towards full integration into the European Union.

President Jahjaga stressed the importance of the interaction of Kosovo with the Council of Europe and the fastest advancement of the process of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.

KCSS: Media role important for prevention of violent extremism

(RTK1)

Role of the media is extremely important for prevention of violent extremism, but the discourse that is used in the media for this phenomenon needs to be improved. This was stated on Tuesday in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica during a debate with journalists from Mitrovicë/Mitrovica and Vushtrri/Vucitrn organized by the Kosovo Centre for Security Studies (KCSS), where the media role in prevention of violent extremism and radicalism in Kosovo was discussed.

At this roundtable it was also stated that journalists should be careful when reporting on issues related to radicalism and religious extremism, as it is a very sensitive field and it requires a rather adequate approach.
