The Mayor of Mitrovica North Goran Rakić said to Tanjug that it would be good if Kosovo minister for dialogue Edita Tahiru would be engaged in settling this issue instead of hindering the process of delineation with her statements.
Rakić reflected on Tahiri’s statement asking from him to refrain from giving ‘irrational statements and respect Kosovo Constitution and laws”, and said that she is the one that should respect the laws. He reminded that by local elections were held in Mitrovica North by Kosovo laws, whereas now someone in Pristina prefers to neglect that and draw administrative lines between two municipalities to the detriment of Serbs. “Laws can’t be implemented selectively. Law should be the same always for everyone,” said Rakic, and added that he won’t be signing a memorandum on regulatory plan today with the mayor of Mitrovica South, as previously announced by Tahiri.
