Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric said today that Serbia is appalled by the verdict of Oliver Ivanovic’s case and that in such an atmosphere, continuing the dialogue with Pristina should be seriously considered. “My personal opinion is that Pristina and the international community needs to provide Serbia with additional assurance that the dialogue makes sense. For me personally it seems that in this atmosphere, there is not a lot to talk about and it all comes down to the humiliation of Serbia,” Djuric told reporters. He said that he would convey his views to all members of the government and the Prime Minister.

Djuric said that Ivanovic has become a toy in a cruel game of the ‘puppet judiciary’ in Kosovo, which is not functional and is controlled by politics. He stated that the verdict had been made for political purposes, and that it has nothing to do with law and justice. “It’s a political message not only to Serbs in Kosovo but also to Belgrade and Serbia, as well as political representatives of the Kosovo Albanians, because they want to establish an artificial political balance,” said Djuric.
