Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, told a press conference today that the recommendation for visa liberalization marks a huge step forward in Kosovo’s path toward European integration. Mustafa said: “This is a special day for Kosovo as the recommendation for visa liberalization marks a very important and multi-dimensional decision. Kosovo has made a huge step forward in the process of European integration … This comes as a result of the commitment of our citizens to Western values. Our success both in the country and abroad would not have been sufficient without the support of our international partners. We have had strong cooperation throughout these years. These are joint successes of Kosovo’s citizens and our international partners. Despite harsher criteria, the European Commission made a positive recommendation for Kosovo. This is a very important confirmation for the people of Kosovo and a clear message for any isolated pessimists both in Kosovo and abroad”.
