A house for returnees, which was under construction in the village of Tomance, Kosovo’s Istok/Istog municipality, was set on fire last night, reports the Kosovo Ministry for Returns and Communities.
The house is being built for a Serb returnee and his family as part of an EU-funded project of the ministry.
Minister for Communities and Returns, Dalibor Jevtic says that the incident is a bad message that greatly endangers returns. “Such cases are a direct message to returnees that they are not welcome to the place of return, and they also pose a threat to the process of returns in general which is not at a satisfactory level, anyway” Jevtic says.
