The law on strategic investments will not be enforceable in the territory of the municipalities in northern Kosovo; it was concluded yesterday at a meeting of mayors from northern Kosovo.
”At the moment when the whole region aspires to European values, the adoption of such a law which centralize decision-making, and thereby completely excludes the principle of decentralization, indicates insincere attitude of the central government towards local governments,” reads the statement.
The mayors of the municipalities in northern Kosovo point out that this procedure only deepen the gap and distrust and creates an unnecessary crisis that started with enactment of the Trepča.
”Our municipality will never allow enforcement of such a distorted law, which essentially reduces the jurisdiction of local governments, to the detriment of citizens,” concludes the statement.
