Kosovo’s Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said today he is optimistic that the European Council will recommend visa liberalization for Kosovo. “I hope that the conclusions for visa liberalization will become a reality soon … Although we believe we will have a positive assessment, the job is not done yet. We are in a serious process and we need to be careful not to send any bad messages to the EU. The opinions of interior ministers are very good,” Haradinaj said after meeting Genoveva Ruiz-Calavera, Director for Western Balkans at EU Commission’s Directorate General for European Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiation. Ruiz-Calavera told reporters after the meeting that Kosovo has a good agenda for reforms. “We had some concerns too, but we need to move forward and ensure financial sustainability. I hope we will be in a position to come out with proposals very soon,” she said. Ruiz-Calavera also noted in a post on Twitter: “Productive meeting with Prime Minister Haradinaj. Thanked him for his commitment to deliver on outstanding European Reform Agenda issues and stressed importance of ensuring consistency with other Kosovo government decisions.”
