Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, said today that “if someone in Belgrade and in Brussels sometimes thinks that there should be no red lines in the final phase of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, I say that if these red lines are removed vis-à-vis Serbia then the same should apply for the southern border with Albania”. Hoxhaj made these remarks at the inauguration of the border crossing point of Morina, an investment by the European Union. Hoxhaj recalled the so-called “meeting of the elephants” in Vienna on 24 July 2006. “That meeting was a catalyst of what Kosovo is today. The Vienna negotiations had red parameters and they helped shape the state-building process of Kosovo,” Hoxhaj said.
