Greater engagement from Brussels is expected regarding the situation in the region, Serbian officials have told EU ambassadors.

Minister without Portfolio in charge of EU integration Jadranka Joksimovic and Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric met with ambassadors of EU member-states in Belgrade on Thursday.

It's been four years since the signing of the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina on the normalization of relations. As the biggest success was seen the agreement on formation of the Community/Association of Serb municipalities (ZSO), that still does not exist.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić held an emergency meeting in Belgrade today with senior representatives of EULEX regarding the more frequent attacks on Serbs and open threats of violence that arrive from extreme political and religious circles in the province, stated the Office for KiM.

-The Republic of Serbia, the Government and the people firmly stand by our people in Kosovo and Metohija, and for Serbia the legitimate elected representatives of the Serbian people are the representatives of the Serbian List as well as the representative of the Serbian List in Kosovo and Metohija Slavko Simić, said Đurić.

Deputy SNS Marko Đurić said that from so far processed causes the current Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić has won 80 per cent of votes at polling stations in Kosovo.

Đurić says that Vučić won nearly 33 000 votes, adding that it is 10 per cent more than in the previous parliamentary elections.

Head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Đurić confirmed this morning that Gradimir Mikić, Mayor of Ranilug/Ranillug, the municipality with Serbian majority in Kosovo, has been arrested and later released.

Đurić said that he was arrested only because he had in his vehicle 1,000 pre-election posters with the image of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić.
