US Ambassador to Serbia, Kyle Scott said it is important to know where Serbia is and where is Kosovo, B92 reports.

Speaking for Prva TV morning programme, Ambassador Scott also spoke about the letter President Vucic sent to his counterpart Trump.

“I fully agree with Vucic, it is important that both sides return to the negotiation table, and to reach a comprehensive solution through dialogue. Tariffs are an obstacle (..),” Ambassador Scott noted.

The development of Russian-Serbian ties in the new year will certainly be determined by visit to Serbia by the Russian president, planned for January.

Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandr Chepurin wrote this in an op-ed published in the Belgrade daily Politika.

According to Chepurin, Vladimir Putin's visit promises to be dynamic and effective.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met Ambassador of United States in Belgrade, Kyle Scott, Tanjug news agency reports.

The two officials discussed the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, and President Vucic urged US to use its political influence and warn Pristina that it is jeopardizing peace and stability in the region with its acts.

“Persistence of Pristina to keep taxes on the goods from central Serbia, and even more announcements on forming an army cause grave concern of Serbia for the future of Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija,” President Vucic said.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Friday in Belgrade with US Ambassador Kyle Scott.

They discussed bilateral relations, economic cooperation and the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Tanjug said, citing a press release from the president's office.

Vucic informed Scott that, by introducing taxes on goods from Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Pristina had violated the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).

EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said she expects Pristina authorities to annul additional taxes of 10 percent on the goods coming from central Serbia, Tanjug news agency reported.

Speaking at a press conference, following the meeting with Albanian Foreign Affairs Minister Ditmir Bushati in Brussels, Mogherini also noted that she expects a continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue.

President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday that he "appreciated the statements made by US Ambassador Kyle Scott."

Vucic also "stressed that Serbia has its own views."

"It's important what the US ambassador is saying, we respect that and appreciate it, but we have our own views," Vucic said when asked about the statement of Kyle Scott made about his country, the United States, not accepting the idea of ​​delineation (with Kosovo), "in order to create ethnically pure states" - as well as him saying that "Russian agents are active in the area of Serbia."

“Policy of the USA towards Kosovo is not new, but the arrogance of the USA Ambassador and disrespect he showed towards Serbia is,” Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin stated, Tanjug news agency reported.

This way Vulin responded to the USA Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott post on Twitter, following his inappropriate statement about Kosovo, made in the Government of Serbia building, that Kosovo is not so-called by an independent state, a press statement from the Ministry of Defense reads.

Municipality of Gornji Milanovac in Serbia proper has suspended all activities with the US embassy in connection with the celebration of the anniversary of the mission "Halyard", due to the recent statement by Ambassador Kyle Scott on Kosovo, said Dejan Kovacevic, the president of the municipality told portal glaszapadnesrbije.rs (the voice of western Serbia), reports TV Most.

Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic thinks that Minister of Defense adequately reacted to the statement of US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott, who earlier said that Kosovo is an independent state, Tanjug news agency reported.  

PM Brnabic added that Ambassador’s Scott statement is scandalous and inappropriate.

“This is inappropriate, not only in diplomacy, but also represents a disrespect of the host, given that the statement was made in the building of the Government of Serbia,” Brnabic told journalists.

“I am sorry that Ambassador Scott has not tried to show his arrogance at some event with President Vucic, because he would be thrown out on his ear from the Government (building),“ the Serbian Minister of Defence, Aleksandar Vulin said, reacting to the statement of the US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott, who said in the Serbian government building, as Tanjug news agency reported, that Kosovo is an „independent state“.
