Serbia "in line of fire" , says U.S. official (B92, Tanjug, Beta)

WASHINGTON -- The United States thinks a number of European countries, Serbia among them, are "in the line of fire" when it comes to relations between Washington and Moscow.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry was appearing before a U.S. Senate subcommittee when he was asked about "the growing influence of Russia in Europe."

In this context, besides Serbia, Kerry also mentioned "Kosovo, Montenegro, Macedonia, and others, Georgia, Moldova, Pridnestrovie," RIA Novosti reported.

Interior Minister Hyseni travels to the U.S. (Koha)

Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs Skender Hyseni, on Monday traveled for a several-days official visit to the United States of America. Hyseni will attend the White House Summit on Countering Violent Extremism. BRUSSELS – The EU named a new prosecutor on Thursday to investigate possible crimes against humanity, including murder and organ trafficking, by several leaders of Kosovo’s 1990s guerrilla army, some of them now senior officials.

Lawyer David Schwendiman succeeds fellow U.S. national, Clint Williamson, a diplomat and prosecutor who headed the Special Investigative Task Force into events after Kosovo’s 1998-1999 war.

United States "fully engaged" in Balkans (B92)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. State Department Office for South Central European Affairs Director Thomas Yazdgerdi says his country is "fully engaged in the Balkans."

This especially applies to "resolving the remaining key issues," he said.
