Hyseni hopeful of Kosovo joining Interpol by year’s end (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo’s Internal Affairs Minister, Skender Hyseni, said today he was hopeful of Kosovo gaining membership in Interpol by the end of the year. Hyseni made the remarks at the signing of an agreement with European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) at the Kosovo Academy for Public Safety in Vushtrri/Vucitrn.

Kosovo’s Interior Minister, Skender Hyseni, said in a debate organised by NGO “Fol” today that it was unacceptable for Kosovo Liberation Army fighters to be detained on warrants issued by Serbia. “We have to use our allies that are part of Interpol to invalidate these lists,” said Hyseni. Speaking about the prospect of Kosovo applying for Interpol membership, Hyseni said the issue has been “complicated by Palestine’s application.” The Palestinian Authority’s Interpol membership bid failed after its application was suspended in 2016.

   

Hyseni requests from Jordan exchange of information on foreign fighters (kosovapress)

Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Skender Hyseni, hosted a meeting with the Jordan Minister of Internal  Affairs, Salameh Hammad. Hyseni requested intensification of the cooperation especially in exchange of information on foreign fighters.

Hyseni informed the guest on the progress reached in Kosovo, work of security and rule of law institutions, regional and international cooperation against organized crime and terrorism.

Interior Minister Hyseni has no intentions to resign (Koha)

Kosovo’s Internal Affairs Minister, Skender Hyseni, during an interview for KTV said he will not resign his post following the death of Vetevendosje activist Astrit Dehari in Prizren detention center. According to him, initially the relevant institutions should investigate the case and depending on the findings, those responsible should be held accountable regarding the case. “We must let the institutions carry out their work,” Hyseni said.

Hyseni: We will do the utmost for Interpol membership (Klan Kosova)

The Minister of the Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Skënder Hyseni said today that he will use the 2017 to do anything that is possible for Kosovo’s membership at Interpol.

He also congratulated Kosovo Police for the assessment of the Transparency International which ranked KP as the most trusted in the region.

Prime Minister of Kosovo Isa Mustafa also congratulated the police.

In Indonesia, Minister Hyseni appeals for Kosovo’s membership in Interpol (RTK)

Kosovo’s Interior Minister, Skender Hyseni, said at the 85th session of the Interpol General Assembly taking place in Bali, Indonesia, that Kosovo is ready to become member of Interpol. Hyseni highlighted, what he said was the high level of professional readiness of the law enforcement institutions in Kosovo and pointed out that the Kosovo Police is one of the most trained and professional police force in the Western Balkans.  Hyseni therefore said Kosovo’s membership application deserves serious consideration.

Kosovo’s Minister for Interior Affairs, Skender Hyseni, said in Pristina today that his ministry has drafted a country-wide strategy to prevent radicalism and terrorism. At the International Conference Against Violent Extremism, Hyseni said “the Interior Ministry is focused on preventing the radicalisation of society and safeguarding traditional Islam in Kosovo. Islam is a religion that calls for peace”. Hyseni also said, “we have close cooperation with the international community and we thank them for their unreserved support on certain projects”.

Hyseni: No one can fight extremism alone (Koha)

Kosovo’s Internal Affairs Minister, Skender Hyseni, during the 93rd Rose Roth seminar said that only close international cooperation can be successful in the fight against extremism and radicalism. “It has been a year since we adopted a strategy to prevent radicalism and violent extremism. No one can fight extremism alone, but only through close international cooperation. Kosovo, as no one else, has demonstrated more willingness to cooperate and the results are evident.

Hyseni: Somebody told me on the phone: Sorry, I wanted to kill you (RTK)

Speaking about the political murders, Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Skënder Hyseni said that he is not certain if someone tried to kill him. Somebody apologized to him through a phone call telling him that he wanted to kill him. “It is a discourse where everyone that feels like it, deals with political murders and these matters should resolve in order to avoid this discourse,” Hyseni said.
