"No new details" in Ivanovic murder probe - Kosovo police (Tanjug)

There are no new details in the investigation of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, the Kosovo police said on Monday.

But a working group set up to conduct the investigation is working in full capacity and the doors for cooperation are not closed to anyone, Deputy Commander of the Kosovo Police in North Mitrovica Besim Hoti has told Tanjug.

The only official information related to the investigation of the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, so far is that the Working Group established by Kosovo Government, with permission of a public prosecutor “dynamically works to gather evidence,” Danas daily reported.

Kosovo Police made a statement with regards to the reporting that Milan Radojcic is suspected to have been involved on Oliver Ivanovic’s murder. “No one said that (Milan Radojcic) is expected to be arrested. We do not expect interference on the work of prosecutor in any aspect. Police investigators are working under authorization and each action is initiated by authorization of the prosecutors,” Hoti said.

He added that security bodies do not dare to speculate or prejudge based on such reporting.

So far, six witnesses were questioned in connection to the Ivanovic’s murder (Kontakt plus radio)

Six witnesses have been examined in connection with the murder of Oliver Ivanovic so far, says Deputy Kosovo Minister of Internal Affairs Milan Radojevic to Kontakt plus radio.

Radojevic told the radio that Kosovo Police is ready to cooperate with everyone in the region, including the Serbian Ministry of Interior, and reminds that there are no official contacts between these two ministries, but that this will most probably be done in accordance with the Brussels Agreement.

A criminal group was established by the end of 2001 and this group carried out numerous post-war killings including political ones, portal writes. “Big names” were aware of the establishment and activities of this group.

Burglaries and thefts became more frequent in the returnees village of Novake, nearby Prizren, while the latest one occurred over the weekend when several houses were broken into, household items were stolen and significant material damage done, KoSSev portal reported referring to RTK2.

Representatives of the village do not report any longer cases to the police, Serbian media further reported.

On the other side, Kosovo police claims they would be investigated any reported case till the end.

Two Kosovo men plead guilty of plotting to attack Israeli soccer team (Reuters)

Two Kosovo men pleaded guilty on Wednesday to planning attacks at a World Cup soccer match in Albania against the visiting Israel team last year.

Kosovo police said two person were arrested yesterday in Mitrovica and Lipljan, suspected of promoting extremist groups, RTV Puls reports today.

The police statement reads suspects were arrested because “they have distributed propaganda material as a token of support to the terrorist groups” AP reported, reminding that a maximum prison sentence for these charges is 15 years imprisonment.

Six people, three Serbs and three Albanians have been arrested in the Mitrovica region, and are suspected of committing a criminal offense of "prostitution," the Kosovo police states.

The police operation was conducted in three different locations in the Mitrovica region, where the arrested persons were suspected of involvement in illegal activities, commencing a crime of dealing with ''prostitution", the statement says.

Serbs arrested in Jarinje set free pending trial (Kontakt plus radio, KIM Radio)

Three Serbs, arrested at the Jarinje crossing point on 22 October, bus driver and two more persons are set free pending trial, KIM Radio reported.

They were arrested on the day of the Kosovo local elections, after two bombs with detonators were found in a bus, transporting displaced Serbs to vote in Kosovo.

Lawyer, Ljubomir Pantovic told Kontakt plus radio that the Basic Court in Mitrovica accepted the guarantees and set Serbs free pending trial.
