Excavations in Zac begin; eight other locations await (RTK 2)

Director of the Forensic Medicine Institute Arsim Gerxhaliu said that this week will start preliminary assessment and excavation in places suspected to have human remains, reports RTK2 quoting Albanian media.

"The digging will begin on Tuesday in the village of Zac in the municipality of Istok, where three months ago a citizen found mortal remains believed to belong to the killed persons during the war in Kosovo."

SRSG Tanin condemns attack on Serb pilgrims and urges respect for freedom of movement and freedom of religion (Serbian media)

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of UNMIK, Mr. Zahir Tanin, condemns the incident in Istog/Istok municipality which took place yesterday when two buses transporting Serb pilgrims were stoned.

“Such acts are unacceptable and competent authorities should investigate the case and bring perpetrators to justice,” SRSG Tanin stresses.

He reminds all of the fundamental rights to freedom of movement and freedom of religion.

Jevtic: Violence against Serb returnees (RTS)

On the occasion of another incident that took place on Saturday evening, when in a household of Snezana Dubljevic was set on fire hay, straw, barn and pigsty in the village of Suvi Lukavac, the deputy prime minister of Kosovo and the minister for communities and returns, Dalibor Jevtic, assessed that it was about, as he said, "organized violence against Serb returnees in the municipality of Istok", reports RTS.

The Kosovo Prosecutor's Office ordered Milanka Terzić, a displaced person from Istok, a measure of compulsory reporting to the police, and it allowed her to be in the Pec Patriarchate after being arrested at the Jarinje checkpoint in northern Kosovo, reports Serbian media.

The indictment against Milanka Terzić was filed on February 21st by the Prosecution in Pec because of the suspicion of allegedly committing a war crime.

Istok/Istog: House of a returnee demolished (KoSSev)

At a newly built house of returnee Blagoje Zuvić in the village Dragoljevac in Istok/Istog municipality, last night were knocked out almost all the windows and a wall of the front door was damaged, reported KoSSev.

The Ministry of Communities and Returns in the Kosovo government announced that this was the second intimidation of the returnee - the first time it happened when the construction of his house has started.
