Minister: We will reexamine Kosovo’s presence in CEFTA (Koha)

Kosovo’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Bajram Hasani, said to the members of the Kosovo Assembly’s committee on economic development that Kosovo should be represented as a country in the meetings of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) and no longer through UNMIK. “We will review the position on whether to pull out from CEFTA,” Hasani said.

Kosovo Government: Suriname has not withdrawn recognition of Kosovo (RFE)

The government of Kosovo has refuted the statement of Serbian Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, that Suriname has withdrawn recognition of Kosovo calling it a speculation. Halil Matoshi, media advisor to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, said relations with Suriname are good and there is no recognition withdrawal. “The international law does not foresee de-recognition or withdrawal of recognition,” Matoshi said.

Haradinaj: We will adopt a plan on Kosovo’s position in crucial areas (Telegrafi)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, said the government of Kosovo will soon adopt a plan on the official position to the issue of dialogue with Serbia and all other  matters of crucial interest. He said this plan would not be under the ownership of either the president of Kosovo or the government but will be put to vote at the Assembly of Kosovo.

Decision on “nationalization” of Brezovica annulled (Kontakt plus radio)

Kosovo Government has annulled a decision on “nationalization” of Brezovica as the project failed, Kontakt plus radio reported.

The government annulled the decision on expropriation of immovable property for public interest, which were subject of tourist center in Brezovica project’s implementation, since this project has failed, press statement of the Kosovo Government said.

Government allocates funds for association of women victims of sexual violence in conflict (Koha)

The government of Kosovo in today’s meeting allocated €200,000 to support association of women victims of sexual violence during the conflict. The government also approved 2017 budget review which is expected to be sent to the Assembly for further endorsement.

 

Government of Kosovo appoints members to border demarcation commission (media)

Government of Kosovo announced it has appointed members to the commission for border demarcation with Montenegro, after Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj dismissed the last one soon after being elected. The commission will consist of experts Zejnullah Gruda, Martin Berishaj, Hamit Basholli, Florim Isufi and Riza Smaka and chaired by Shpejtim Bulliqi.

Today (Sept. 20) is the 10th day since Ramush Haradinaj became the new prime minister of Kosovo. After a three month wait between June’s election and confirmation of his new role through the Assembly on Sept. 10, Haradinaj and his new government have spent the last ten days working on a wide range of issues, from local borders, to relocating residents, even North Korea’s nuclear threat.
