The Kosovo-German Chamber of Commerce (KGCC) soon will enable the young people of Kosovo to go to Germany for training and professional education. The KGCC on Thursday signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kosovo’s Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare for training and professional education of Kosovo's young people in Germany. The President of KGCC, Samir Krasniqi said that this project provides many opportunities to young Kosovars to be educated and work simultaneously in Germany.

The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) athletics world governing body on Wednesday admitted Kosovo as a member. Kosovo was granted provisional membership at an IAAF council meeting in Beijing. But it will have "full rights and obligations" as the 214th member of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), said a statement by the ruling body. "The application was judged to meet the requirements" set out by the IAAF constitution, the statement added.

Domestic violence, which in 99% of cases victims have been women, has seen a significant increase compared to previous years. This is confirmed by data from the Kosovo Police for Peja/Pec region, including Gjakova/Djakovica.

Kosovo has marked the International Roma Day on Wednesday, 8 April, by various activities. Institutional leaders met with representatives of the Roma community, whereas the latter pledged for equal treatment. The Roma community, to mark its day, chose a unique form to protest, with music, while demanding better treatment. A meeting between institutional leaders, representatives of the international community and representatives of Roma community was also held at the government of Kosovo in order to mark the Roma Day.

Kosovo has become the 50th member of Tennis Europe, the regional association of the sport’s governing body the International Tennis Federation.
Tennis therefore joins the growing list of sports to formally approve Kosovo’s membership following last December’s decision of the International Olympic Committee to grant full recognition to the Kosovo Olympic Committee, in accordance with Rule 3.7 of the Olympic Charter.

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, while attending the Week of Women in Pristina, admitted that Kosovo needs bigger inclusion of women in the decision-making processes. According to him, Kosovo needs to have more women leaders. Mustafa said that it is impossible to develop economy without the presence of women. “You might accuse me that I have only two women ministers in my cabinet, and I apologize for this. We should have had more women in government,” Mustafa said.

Representatives of the Kosovo government Commission on Missing Persons travelled to Croatia, at the invitation of the Commission for Kidnaped and Missing Persons in Croatia. The meeting held between the two committees aimed to concretize the steps in addressing the cases of common interest and cooperation, in the exchange of experience with a view to addressing the challenges facing the two countries in the process of enlightening the fate of the missing as a result of the wars in former Yugoslavia.

Kosovo’s President, Atifete Jahjaga, marking the Week of Women in Kosovo, said that the overall process depends on the role of women. "We take pride in the achievements of women. More work needs to be done on the implementation of a comprehensive approach on the institutions of justice, employment and education,” Jahjaga said. While Teuta Sahatqija, representative of Women Caucus said that the idea has been that women be empowered and not mentioned only on 8 March.

Kosovo has been accepted as the 215th member federation of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). 
The decision, taken during the FIBA's Executive Committee meeting in Geneva, sees the governing body become the latest to formally approve Kosovo's membership after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) granted full recognition to the Kosovo Olympic Committee at its Session in Monte Carlo in December.

Kosovo’s Minister of Finance, Avdullah Hoti met on Thursday with World Bank's Regional Vice President, Laura Tuck, accompanied by the Regional Director of the World Bank, Ellen Goldstein, and World Bank Country Manager for Kosovo, Jan-Peter Olters, with whom he discussed mutual cooperation and thanked them for the help that the World Bank has given to Kosovo. Hoti said that Kosovo has fiscal and macroeconomic stability and that the government of Kosovo is implementing its objectives on economic development.
