Serbian List’s boycott does not threaten ruling coalition (Klan Kosova)

Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli commented today on the decision of the Serbian List to suspend participation in the Kosovo Assembly and the Government to protest against the approval of a law on Trepca mining complex. Veseli said that the boycott represents no threats to the ruling coalition but advised against such practice as “it does not contribute to the work of the Assembly”.  At the same time, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group chief, Ismet Beqiri, said the Serbian List needs to learn not to blackmail Kosovo.

Next Assembly session on Friday (Indeksonline)

Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli, said today that the Assembly Presidency has decided that the next Assembly session will be held on Friday and that Trepca bill will be part of the agenda. He said he was confident that the bill will pass.  Veseli also said that the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro will be put into vote soon.

Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, today announced that the Assembly Presidency decided to hold the next plenary session on Thursday, 29 September. However, he said, the demarcation agreement with Montenegro is not part of the agenda for Thursday’s session. “Whenever the government submits the demarcation agreement to the Assembly, it will be put into vote. The demarcation agreement should pass. Any action that destabilizes peace, is a violation of sovereignty and our security. We are strongly oriented pro US and NATO,” Veseli said.

Veseli and Delawie discuss government reshuffling (Koha)

Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, met today the US Ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, and discussed the current political developments and the work of the Assembly. The two officials also spoke about the need of government reshuffling which, they agreed, should follow consultations between the ruling coalition partners. Veseli stressed that the government reform should focus on the economic perspective.

President of the Kosovo Assembly, Kadri Veseli, said that a broad consensus is necessary to proceed with the issue of border demarcation. At the same time, he reiterated that there will be no negotiations with the Serbian List and certainly no conditions will be accepted.

Kosovo Assembly President, Kadri Veseli, welcomed today the Vice President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, and his family. “I welcomed our precious friend, the U.S. Vice President, Joe Biden, and his family, in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. The United States are a synonym of our freedom and independence. Forever,” Veseli wrote on his Facebook account.

Border demarcation debate set for 3 August (RTK)

President of the Kosovo Assembly, Kadri Veseli, said today that the presidency has decided to call a round table on the issue of border demarcation with Montenegro on 3 August. Veseli said the round table as well as the debate on the matter should have taken place much sooner but, “better late than never.” “It is in our interest to protect the territory of Kosovo,” said Veseli further. At the same time, the regular plenary session of the Assembly has been scheduled to take place a day after the debate, on 4 August.
