McAllister concentrates on how to get Brussels dialogue back on track, EU took a note of a debate on the exchange of territories (N1, RFE)

David McAllister, the European Parliament (EP) Rapporteur for Serbia told Radio Free Europe (RFE) in an interview his delegation called on Pristina authorities to revoke the decision on the 100 percent import taxes on goods from Serbia to enable the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue to resume, the Beta news agency reported on Wednesday.

Pentagon worried about Russia's meddling (B92, Beta, Pobjeda)

Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahon says the US is worried about "Russia's meddling in the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the Western Balkans."

"Russia seeks to derail Euro-Atlantic perspective of the countries such as North Macedonia and Montenegro through the aggressive approach and deterrence," Pahon told Podgorica-based daily Pobjeda.
He added that the US "see North Macedonia and Montenegro are willing to choose freedom and success and everything that the West can offer."

Dacic met US national security officials, discussed dialogue, tariffs (B92)

First Deputy PM and Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic met on Monday with Principal Director for European Affairs at the US National Security Council John Erath. Erath traveled here with Director for European Affairs at National Security Council William Berkley.

According to the Serbian Government, they are on a two-day visit to Belgrade.

During the meeting, "mutual satisfaction was expressed over the improvement of bilateral relations with a rich history," a press release said.

The US is looking for someone like Holbrooke for Kosovo (Danas)

Representatives of diplomatic circles comment for the Belgrade based daily Danas that it is no surprise that US career diplomat Philip Reeker will replace Wess Mitchell, acting Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia.

Interlocutors of Danas argue that America has firmly resolved to "push" the whole process of resolving the Kosovo issue, as well as seeking someone like the late Richard Holbrooke, known for his involvement in the Balkans, including Kosovo, in the 1990s.

Kosovo is US aircraft carrier on ground, says German politician (B92, Tanjug, Vecernje Novosti, Dnevnik, TV Most, KIM radio)

German politician Willy Wimmer says Kosovo as a state has been planned since the late 1980s - and its only purpose is to be the "US aircraft carrier on the ground".

In an interview for Belgrade based daily Vecernje Novosti, which recalled that Wimmer said back in 2000 that Kosovo was "America's need to dominate the Balkans" - he pointed out that since the aggressive war against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) in 1999, NATO, led by the United States, did not stop its conflicts.

Vucic: There would be peace, unless somebody starts killing Serbs (Prva TV, B92)

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic speaking for the Prva TV morning program said he has the political courage to resolve the Kosovo issue and “there would be peace unless somebody physically attacks the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija,” B92 reported.

“There would be peace unless somebody physically attacks Serbs and starts to kill them, that I would not be able to bear,” Vucic said.

Vucic added he took upon himself resolving the Kosovo issue as his own job, while the Government of Serbia authorized him to negotiate.

Dacic: US more than others interested in compromise (RTS)

Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic told RTS he is not surprised that Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz used the meeting with US President Donald Trump to discuss about Kosovo and Metohija.

Speaking for RTS morning news edition Dacic noted that the US more than other partners is interested in finding the lasting solution to the Kosovo and Metohija issue, which is in relation to a change in their stance and reflected in a manner that Kosovo is no longer a closed issue for them.
