KSF to sign a bilateral plan with Croatia (Koha)

The Ministry of Kosovo Security Force and the Ministry of Defense of Croatia will sign a bilateral plan for 2015. The signing will take place during the visit of the Minister of Kosovo Security Force Haki Demolli and KSF Commander, Lieutenant General Rahman Rama to Croatia. Demolli and Rama were invited by the Minister of Defense of Croatia, Ante Kotromanovic for a two-day visit.

Rrahman Rama assumes duty as KSF commander (Telegrafi)

In an official ceremony on Wednesday, Rrahman Rama took over the position of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF). Kosovo’s President, Atifete Jahjaga, appreciated the work of the KSF, and encouraged them to work even harder in the future when the KSF would be transformed into Kosovo Armed Force (KAF), and aspires to join NATO. Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, said that the government he leads will fulfill all the tasks in order to transform the KSF into KAF, which would serve peace, security and fight against terrorism in the region.

NATO supports the creation of Armed Forces (Telegrafi)

The chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Enver Hoxhaj, Kosovo Security Force Minister Haki Demolli, and KSF Commander Gen. Kadri Kastriati, on Wednesday visited NATO Headquarters and met with senior officials of this institution. Hoxhaj, said that NATO supports the transformation of KSF in Kosovo Armed Forces (KAF). "It should be emphasized that it is a genuine support for the transformation of KSF in the Armed Forces,” wrote Hoxhaj on his Facebook profile.

Demolli and Kastrati in Brussels at NATO conference (Koha)

The Minister of Kosovo Security Force (KSF), Haki Demolli, and KSF commander, Lt. Gen. Kadri Kastrati along with a delegation of the Kosovo government, today and tomorrow will stay in Brussels at the invitation of the North-Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Demolli and Kastrati will participate in workshops and conferences dealing with security issues, opportunities for training and military education, military cooperation and the role of NATO in Kosovo and beyond.

Government to receive draft law on Kosovo Armed Forces next week (Koha)

Kosovo Security Force Minister Haki Demolli said that the draft law on the establishment of Kosovo Armed Forces (KAF) will be presented to the government next week.  He added however that before a draft law on transformation of the KSF into KAF is passed, the Kosovo Assembly needs to vote in favour of constitutional changes. Demolli explained that the KSF transformation process is expected to happen in three stages.

Kastrati: KSF ready to become Kosovo army (Radio Kosova)

Kosovo Security Force commander Kadri Kastrati said in an interview for Radio Kosova that the Force has made considerable progress since its establishment and that it is ready to be transformed into an army.  Kastrati said that the KSF has a modern infrastructure, equipment in accordance to NATO standards and also has the capacity to deploy a company, made of 127 members, as part of humanitarian relief. He said that the KSF company is expected to become certified by the UN by 2016.

Kosovo participates in South-East European Cooperation Process in Istanbul (Koha)

The chairman of the Committee on Internal Affairs, Security and Supervision of the Kosovo Security Force, Daut Haradinaj, took part in the sessions of the General Committee for Justice, Internal Affairs and Security Cooperation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), which was held on 10 February in Istanbul, Turkey. Topics that were discussed in this session were: parliamentary cooperation in the field of justice, economy and the fight against cross-border organized crime in the region.

KSF ready to transform into Kosovo Armed Force (Zeri)

Minister of Kosovo Security Force, Haki Demolli, said on Monday that the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) is ready to be transformed into Kosovo Armed Force (KAF). Demolli made these statements in the report to the members of the Commission for Foreign Affairs, and informed them about the preparations that were made for the establishment of the Kosovo Armed Force (KAF). Demolli announced that in cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), his ministry designed the transformation of KSF into KAF.

KSF to help Albania after the floods (Koha Ditore)

Kosovo government on Thursday approved the decision to send a contingent of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) for humanitarian operation in Albania, the country which is facing floods after heavy rain in the past days. The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, has announced that there is a request to send a unit of KSF in Albania to help prevent damage from floods.
