Head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group, Ismet Beqiri, said the party would support the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) into an army but noted that this should be done with the support of strategic partners. Beqiri said the LDK would support the bill if it is put to vote at the Assembly but that the goal of creating an army that would protect Kosovo’s sovereignty would be difficult to achieve without the international support.

Beqiri claimed that while everyone has the right to demand justice, Dehari’s case should not be politicized. “It is unacceptable how this case has been politically used by Vetevendosje,” Beqiri said adding that everyone should wait for the justice to run its course.

Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli commented today on the decision of the Serbian List to suspend participation in the Kosovo Assembly and the Government to protest against the approval of a law on Trepca mining complex. Veseli said that the boycott represents no threats to the ruling coalition but advised against such practice as “it does not contribute to the work of the Assembly”.  At the same time, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group chief, Ismet Beqiri, said the Serbian List needs to learn not to blackmail Kosovo.

Vetevendosje deputy leader Driton Caushi has condemned the setting on fire of the car owned by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group chief Ismet Beqiri. “Such acts are deplorable and we call on institutions to act and not leave room for anyone’s labeling or smearing,” Caushi wrote on his Facebook account. He further commented on a statement by publicist Halil Matoshi who seemed to suggest Vetevendosje is responsible for the attack.

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has strongly condemned the setting alight of the car owned by the party’s head of parliamentary group Ismet Beqiri. “This low criminal act is an attack directed at the institutions, legitimate representatives and against the democratic functioning of the Republic of Kosovo,” the LDK said in a statement.

The head of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group Ismet Beqiri said after the meeting of the Assembly presidency that the opposition parties are not allowing the ruling coalition MPs to express their views on the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro. “LDK will not vote for a demarcation that that strips the state of Kosovo of its territory. But this has to confirmed first,” said Beqiri.

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group chief, Ismet Beqiri, said yesterday that the recent agreements with Serbia might be annulled only through votes in the Assembly. He also said that without international friends, Kosovo cannot be integrated. “The Assembly is the place where decisions are made, where changes are made and where signatures could be withdrawn.  Without international friends, Kosovo cannot be integrated in the international arena,” Beqiri said.

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) parliamentary group chief, Ismet Beqiri, told KTV that throwing teargas in today’s session of the Kosovo Assembly has nothing to do with democracy. Beqiri recalled that it was Serbian police and army that once used teargas and bullets against Albanians. He also said that there were other democratic means for the opposition to achieve its political objectives, not through teargas.

The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Ismet Beqiri, said on Monday that the Prime Minister Isa Mustafa, is willing to immediately report on what would be discussed in Brussels, and it is ready to do this on Thursday, if this round of talks ends today. This, according to him, demonstrates the willingness of the government for transparency. Speaking about the dismissal of the Communities and Returns Minister Aleksandar Jablanovic, Beqiri said that anyone who works to the detriment of Kosovo, has no place in Kosovo institutions.
