PDK renounces Thaci for PM, favours LDK’s Lutfi Haziri instead? (Gazeta Blic)

The name of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) senior official, Lutfi Haziri, has been mentioned as a consensual candidate for prime minister inside the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK). Haziri could be the future Kosovo PM if the nominations from the two blocs fail. Haziri, however, denied the possibility and said that this is a proposal from PDK circles.

PDK’s two scenarios for the post of Assembly Speaker (Gazeta Blic)

Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has prepared two scenarios for the post of Assembly Speaker. Although it is aware it does not have the sufficient votes to take the post of the Speaker, the party will not give up easily and has even decided who to propose for the post, Hajredin Kuci. Sources from inside the PDK said that when the old Assembly presidency is set to meet on Saturday, PDK will try to prevent the joint parliamentary group consisting of Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Alliance for Future of Kosovo (AAK) and Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) from being recognized as legitimate.

Thaci: Now I see the light at the end of the tunnel (Kosovapress)

Hashim Thaci, the outgoing Prime Minister and leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), stated that the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Vetevendosje, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), and NISMA have bypassed all criteria and principals by creating a “union” based on close personal interests and spite. According to him, this “union” has become factor of the tendency to block expressed will of the population for the New Mission. Thaçi however has faith that this “union” is temporary.

Deputies, do not sell to Hashim Thaçi (Zëri)

According to Lavdim Hamidi, whenever the outgoing Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi faces difficulties, he uses millions from the budget of Kosovo for political benefits. “This is how he acted on the verge of 8 June elections when he increased salaries of public servants, pensions, an made many other promises only to obtain more votes for his party,” he writes adding that in this manner Thaçi compensated party’s loss after Fatmir Limaj, Jakup Krasniqi and many others left PDK.

PDK will try to form government through secret voting! (Gazeta Blic)

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) led by Hashim Thaci will not give up. While most Albanian political parties have decided not to negotiate with the PDK for the establishment of the new government, Thaci’s party has come up with a perfect scenario. “You know that the Constitutional Court has given the right to the PDK to form the government. We have several scenarios to form the government, but the most plausible plan is to use secret voting in the assembly session for the formation of the government,” a reliable source in the PDK told the news website.

Will the name of Prime Minister be pulled out from an envelope? (Gazeta Express)

Berat Buzhala considers that even if the Constitutional Court decides that the President should give Hashim Thaçi the mandate to create the new government, it is globally known that he does not have the sufficient numbers. Therefore, he says, if the Constitutional Court authorizes only the Democratic Party of Kosovo to create the new government, its leader, Hashim Thaçi, would become an extremely funny figure. “All that he can do is meet Gjergj Dedaj from Albanians and non-Albanian communities.

Kuci: “Envelope”, a hypothetical issue (Telegrafi)

Deputy leader of Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Hajredin Kuci, doesn’t seem overly pleased with the idea of a technical government being installed in Kosovo in the absence of sufficient numbers for forming the new government. Asked what would be the PDK’s position in face of a decision to create a technical government, Kuci said: “That issue is not a topic”.

Hoxhaj: No government without PDK (RTK)

Enver Hoxhaj, deputy leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and Kosovo’s outgoing Foreign Minister, said in an interview for RTK1 that although his party is waiting for the interpretation of the Constitutional Court, the future government of Kosovo cannot be formed without the PDK. Hoxhaj said five countries are in the process of recognizing Kosovo’s statehood, three member states of the European Union – Greece, Romania and Slovakia, and two African countries which have already decided to recognize Kosovo.
