Derguti: Edita Tahiri deceived the public, telephone code endangers national security (Lajmi)

Head of the Vetevendosje Parliamentary Group, Aida Derguti, reacted to the publication of her letter addressed to the ITU, by the Minister for Dialogue, Edita Tahiri. During the today’s Assembly session, she accused Minister Tahiri for deceiving the Kosovo population. “With the publication of the letter, Edita Tahiri tried to lie the public, as she has learned to do about the dialogue,” Derguti said.

Government of Kosovo pledges to launch health insurance premiums in July (Lajmi)

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Isa Mustafa, said today at the Assembly that healthcare and education are among the top priorities of his government and that investments in these areas will increase in the coming period. Mustafa said the government of Kosovo was planning to launch health insurance early this year but considered more preparations were necessary. “We think the deadline needs to be extended for another six months to provide time for collection of premiums,” Mustafa said.

Representatives of three opposition parties – Vetevendosje, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) – held a press conference today where they called for the halt of dialogue with Serbia. They said Prime Minister Isa Mustafa and President Hashim Thaci have no credibility to lead talks without the consent of the Kosovo Assembly. “How is it possible for the country’s leaders to make compromises for Kosovo on their own without asking us, the Assembly, the opposition. In fact, we heard of the meeting from the media,” said Vetevendosje’s Glauk Konjufca.

Ibishi: Kosovo Army to be created as soon as possible (RTK)

Kosovo Assembly MP from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Nuredin Ibishi, raised concern today during the Assembly session for the lack of voting on the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force into an Army.

According to Ibishi, after the recent events and the global events in general that endanger the security in the world, Kosovo should be capable to defend its territorial integrity.

Konjufca: Governments of Kosovo and Serbia are orchestrating spectacles (Gazeta Metro)

Head of the Vetëvednosje parliamentary group, Glauk Konjufca, said today at the Assembly session that government of Kosovo and Serbia are orchestrating spectacles, by stopping a train and not removing a wall. He added that situation in the north cannot improve by demolition of the wall or by stopping Serbian trains, but by dissolving of the parallel structures.

AAK’s Lekaj wants the Mitrovica North wall to be treated the same as the Serbian train (Koha)

The head of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) parliamentary group Pal Lekaj said today at the Assembly session that the situation in the Balkans and Kosovo is not calm. Commenting on the actions of Kosovo institutions to prevent the Belgrade-Mitrovica train from reaching its destination, Lekaj said that the government should show the same determination with regards to the Mitrovica North wall instead of fighting for who will take more credit for sending the Kosovo Police units to the north.

Deda: Kosovo to respond to Belgrade’s threat by creating the army (Lajmi)

Kosovo Assembly independent MP, Ilir Deda, considers that strengthening the Kosovo Security Force into army of Kosovo should be the response to the threat of the Serbian President. “Strengthening the KSF into the Army of Kosovo should be the response of Kosovo toward Belgrade’s threat, where the President of Serbia states that “what I said about sending the army, derives from the conclusions of the Council for National Security,” Dedaj wrote on his Facebook page.
