King Abdullah: Kosovo is an example of religious tolerance (Klan Kosova)

King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein  of Jordan at a press conference during his visit to Kosovo today said that he is happy with the progress made by Kosovo since 1999. "It is a pleasure to be back here and see the changes that have been made in Kosovo,” King Abdullah said. He stressed that Kosovo is an example of religious tolerance. "Kosovo reflects the best values, values which everyone should reflect.

Jahjaga welcomes the ratification of the SAA in the Assembly (Koha)

Kosovo’s President, Atifete Jahjaga, through a press statement welcomed the ratification of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) in the Assembly today. "Today we were united, despite our political differences, and together we made this vital step for the citizens of Kosovo, to strengthen the European perspective of our country. Jahjaga submits Association to Constitutional Court (Klan Kosova)

President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga has delivered today to the Constitutional Court the request to interpret the compatibility of the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities with the Constitution of Kosovo. “President Jahjaga has referred this request to the Constitutional Court based on her constitutional competencies,” said president’s advisor Selim Selimi.

President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga is expected to send to the Constitutional Court agreement on the establishment of Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities in an effort to resolve the political situation in Kosovo, sources said. Jahjaga will ask the Court to interpret Pristina-Belgrade Brussels agreement reached between the prime ministers. “The President is convinced that the Constitutional Court, through interpretation of the agreement, will create a new political environment, more suitable for dialogue between the two sides,” the source added.

Leaders of the opposition parties ended their meeting with the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, where they reiterated their positions that they would not set back or sit around the same table with the government, if the latter does not  withdraw signatures from the agreements for the Association/Community of Serb majority municipalities and demarcation of the border with Montenegro.

Haliti: President’s invitation for political leaders, unnecessary (KosovaPress)

Kosovo Assembly Deputy Speaker Xhavit Haliti told the news site that the initiative of President Atifete Jahjaga to meet the political leaders and discuss how to overcome the current political crisis was unnecessary. According to him, this is not within President’s responsibilities.  Even though, Haliti said that if these meetings have positive effect, then it might help in reducing the tension in the Assembly.

The Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) and the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) protested against new violations of the guaranteed rights of the Serbian community on the official use of mother tongue by the President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, since at yesterday's press conference was not provided a translation into Serbian.
