Opposition to boycott the Assembly (Koha)

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Vetevendosje Movement and the Initiative for Kosovo (NISMA) said today they would boycott today’s and future sessions of the Kosovo Assembly after discussions on the petition with over 30,000 signatures against electricity prices were not included in the agenda. The AAK proposed the discussion but it failed to secure enough votes from MPs. Meanwhile, the three opposition parties held a press conference announcing that they will boycott the Assembly session.

Members of the Kosovo Assembly will vote on the establishment of a special court that will address war crimes allegations, in late April or early May. Unnamed sources told Politiko that this timeline has been agreed by Kosovo institutions and international officials, unless there are no unexpected developments. Hashim Thaci and Isa Mustafa, the leaders of the two biggest parties in Kosovo, as well as President Atifete Jahjaga, have expressed full support for the establishment of the court.

Sources within the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), told this portal that the current leader of the party, Isa Mustafa, might withdraw from the race of regaining another mandate.  “Major work and engagement as the Prime Minister of the country, has put Isa Mustafa in front of the dilemma of whether to run for another mandate. Isa Mustafa will most probably withdraw from the competition for the leader of the party,” said this source.

Kosovo army will need NATO approval to act in north (Balkan Insight)

Prime Minister Isa Mustafa said Kosovo's future regular army would need to consult with NATO first about any actions in the Serb-majority north.

Prime Minister Mustafa said on Wednesday that NATO would not stand in the way of Kosovo forming its own army, but NATO's approval would be needed before it could undertake any action in the mainly Serbian far north of the country.

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa said on Wednesday that the government of Kosovo is working to “build a state with a functional rule of law, economic development and where human rights are respected.”  "During the hundred days of work, we made many positive steps. The paper’s deputy editor-in-chief Lavdim Hamidi writes that on the first 100 days of the Kosovo government, Prime Minister Isa Mustafa will probably not prefer to present his cabinet’s work using figures as these are not something to be proud of for someone who has a PhD in economics, like Mustafa. However, Mustafa has to mention the fact that during his term in office, 100,000 people migrated from Kosovo.
