Community/Association of Serbian municipalities in Kosovo shall be established for three to five months, said the vice president of the Kosovo government Branimir Stojanovic.

Question of Community/Association of Serbian municipalities should be solved. He said that a deadline was set by the Serbian List in the coalition agreement that was signed with the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Stojanovic said that it remains to agree on the statute of the Community/Association at the highest level possible, because it will define its powers.

The first of nine conditions set by the Serbian List for a coalition with the prime minister of Kosovo is the Community/Association of Serbian municipalities (ZSO), whose formation was agreed in Brussels a year and eight months ago.

The ZSO was the main argument of the official Belgrade, led by Aleksandar Vulin, to motivate Serbs in Kosovo to participate in the Kosovo local elections held last year.

President of the newly formed Statehood Movement, and former high official of the Democratic Party of Serbia, Serbia Slobodan Samardzic believes that incumbent Serbian leadership will make the ‘latest 100th step’, under the pressure of Brussels, and recognize independent Kosovo. He added that such commitment is provided in the point 12 of the negotiation framework for the EU accession.
