Dacic: I don’t expect anything good from Thaci’s election (Danas)

After the possible election of Hashim Thaci for president of Kosovo, I don’t expect anything good to happen regarding relations between Serbia and Kosovo, said Ivica Dacic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. When asked why, Dacic explained that the political chaos in Kosovo is an excuse for not fulfilling the obligations undertaken by signing the Brussels agreement. “And it will continue,” said Dacic, adding that the EU should put pressure on Pristina to fulfill its obligations.

Five EU countries are resisting (Vecernje Novosti)

Five EU members that have not recognized Kosovo's independence are under pressure to change their position. Most recently the pressure has been from PACE resolution that has called upon the five member states to recognize Kosovo. Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told Radio Belgrade that Serbia "will do everything to, by 2018 or 2019, complete the negotiations with the EU so the organization can make a political decision on Serbia's full membership.

Dacic says that progress on all other chapters will depend on the progress made in chapter 35, which concerns normalization of relations with Pristina; he says " the problem is that it is not clear even to European Union what all implies this chapter.
