UNS an DNKiM request deposition of responsible officials for illegal election of the RTK2 director (KIM Radio)

Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) and Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) have requested responsibility of those who violated the law in relation with the election of the director of the Radio Television Kosovo channel in the Serbian language.

Serbs from Drsnik think to sell the property and leave (RTK2)

After returning to village Drsnik, the residents were faced with many problems, looting and burning of property. Those facts forced people from Drsnik to think about selling the property. Returnees Darinka and Miomir Ribać came back to the village in 2005. “People leave. They sold the property, even started to sell the houses in the village. We risked for nothing,” said Darinka Ribać.

Until 1999 in village Drsnik lived 135 Serbian families, and today in 64 returnee houses live about 20 people.

26 companies interested in a feasibility study for Trepča (RTK2, KoSSev)

At a meeting of the Board of Privatisation Agency of Kosovo one of the highest priority issues was the question of Trepča and the tender which is open for the procurement of professional services for a feasibility study for Trepča.

The announcement from this meeting says that there is the great interest of international companies and consortiums, which have signed up to participate in this process. So far, 26 have applied for the tender, while 7 have submitted bids, said in the PAK statement.

Four Serbs in the working group for drafting the Statute of the ZSO (RTK2)

Ten days ago the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi announced in Vienna that soon will start formation of working groups that would work on the draft of the Statute of ZSO (Association/Community of Serb municipalities). However, there is no official confirmation in Pristina about what "soon" meant.

The right to a pension for IDPs mission impossible (RTK2)

Administrative Instruction of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, which contains new requirements for entitlement to a basic pension in Kosovo, has created difficulties to the applicants. Obtaining the necessary documents, such as proof of property tax payment for internally displaced persons is almost mission impossible. For the relevant ministry, new requirements are a mechanism against possible abuses, while the caucus of the Serbian List in the Kosovo Assembly, characterized the move of the ministry as a violation of the law.

The incidents in northern Kosovo disturb the citizens (RTK2)

The incidents in northern Kosovo gain momentum, in the night between Friday and Saturday in a shootout in a coffee shop in Zvečan/Zveqan, severely were injured two brothers, while on Saturday evening, near a police station and the court in North Mitrovica, an explosive device was thrown at a police patrol. In the incident one police officer was injured, who was released from hospital after initial medical treatment.

What will happen with 487 cases from Kosovo (RTK2)

In the High Prosecutor’s Offices in Vranje, Leskovac and Niš is recorded a total of 487 cases taken from Kosovo, and some of them could be tried before the War Crimes Prosecution of the Republic of Serbia. The cases, most of which are only criminal charges, are currently in the process of review. Soon, should be brought the decision whether and which of them will be further processed, said Milan Petrović, one of the candidates for the head of that Office.

Simić and Žbogar on the EU Office support to the Serbian community (RTK2)

President of the Serbian List Slavko Simić met with outgoing Head of the EU Office in Kosovo SamueI Žbogar. The talks focused on support of the EU office to the Serbian community, when it comes to economic and infrastructure development, as well as the activities of MPs of the Serbian List, the current draft of the Law on the Census of the population in the north of Kosovo and the process of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

Is Isa Mustafa welcome in the North? (RTK2)

Representatives of local governments in northern Kosovo say that visit of Prime Minister Isa Mustafa still is not officially announced. Whether he will come to the north is uncertain, and the mayors of the four municipalities in the north said that they have not been officially notified. “I really do not know, nor I would take seriously what the media in Pristina writes,” said the mayor of North Mitrovica Goran Rakić.
