Insufficient number of Serbs in institutions in Kosovo (RTS)

In the course of dialogue in Brussels, the representation of Serbs in Kosovo's public institutions and companies was not mentioned, even though it is far below the legal requirements. According to the Serbian representatives in the Kosovo government, the number of Serbs in public institutions is far below the guaranteed 10 per cent.

There are between two and three per cent of Serbs in public institutions and enterprises.

Janjic: For Serbia remained a delicate issue (RTS)

The interest of Serbia is to pass, as soon as possible, from the phase of talks in Brussels to the talks on joining the EU, said the president of the Forum for Ethnic Relations, Dusan Janjic.

Director of the Office of Media Relations, Milivoje Mihajlovic told RTS that Pristina should not delay the formation of the Community/Association of Serbian municipalities. He adds that only the essential solution could lead to peace.

U.S. to suggest to Germany to allow opening of chapters (RTS, B92)

It can be expected that the U.S. will suggest to Germany and other EU members to let up, and give Serbia a chance to open chapters in membership negotiations.

This is according to Faculty of of Political Sciences professor Ivo Viskovic, who added that the visit of Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to Washington is "very important."

"It's difficult to say that this would mean pressure on Berlin, Berlin would never accept that, but an influence on Berlin, yes," he told the Serbian state broadcaster RTS, and added:

Valon Kabashi, the first identified member of the Albanian National Army (RTS)

Valon Kabashi from Orahovac, who was killed during the conflict in Kumanovo, was first identified member of the Albanian National Army, which the United Nations declared as a terrorist organization.  Kosovo Albanian media published a photo of Valon Kabashi in a uniform of Albanian National Army, announcing the funeral of eight members of the "Kumanovo Group".

Djuric: On Tuesday, discussions about the Association/Community of Serbian municipalities (RTS, KIM radio, TV Most)

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djuric said on Sunday in the RTS1 News in the evening that finally in Brussels, after a year and a half, will be discussed the Association/Community of Serbian municipalities.

Djuric said last night that the Serbian delegation will also include representatives of Serbs from Kosovo.

Odalovic: Serbia and Albania could be pillar of stability (RTS, NMagazin, Blic)

Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Veljko Odalovic has stated that it was important for Serbia and Albania to devote to the recent events in Kumanovo, FYROM and that these two countries could be a pillar of stability in the region.

Odalovic told the RTS that the visit takes place at a delicate moment, but it would be important that Serbia and Albania deal primarily with the events in Kumanovo.

Vucic: First chapters would open before end of year (RTS)

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday that he was confident that Serbia would open the first chapters in its EU accession negotiations before the end of the current year.

“I hope and expect that it will happen in September, but I have still not lost hope that we can get the first chapters even earlier. These could be Chapters 23 and 24, concerning the rule of law, 32, which concerns financial control, and Serbia-specific 35 (on Kosovo)," Vucic said for Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) after a ‘Friends of Serbia’ meeting in Brussels.
