Hoxhaj urges CARICOM countries to recognise Kosovo (Epoka e Re)

Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, has called on five countries members of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) that have not recognised Kosovo to do so and thus help implementation of joint projects. “Recognition of Kosovo and establishment of diplomatic relations with these countries would open a new chapter of cooperation,” said Hoxhaj during a visit to Guyana.

Hoxhaj: We will stop "Sunny Valley" (media)

Kosovo Foreign Minister, Enver Hoxhaj, told RTV Dukagjini ​today that Serbia's project for building a settlement called "The Sunny Valley" in the northern part of Kosovo will not be implemented. Hoxhaj said the project is illegal and that the Kosovo government will put pressure on Belgrade to stop further construction work. Arguing that the project has colonizing objectives, Hoxhaj also said that only Milosevic's regime could come up with such initiatives.

Government of Kosovo approves proposal for setting up Western Balkans Fund (RTK)

The government of Kosovo has approved the draft law for ratification of agreement on establishing a Western Balkans Fund. Apart from Kosovo, other signatory parties to the agreement include Albania, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Montenegro, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kosovo’s Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj said the fund will support projects in the field of education and culture. “The creation of this Balkans fund is aimed at promoting culture in the region and deepen relations with neighbouring countries,” said Hoxhaj.

Kuçi appointed Deputy Prime Minister, Hoxhaj Foreign Minister (Koha)

Kosovo’s Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, today appointed Hajredin Kuçi in the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Enver Hoxhaj as the new Foreign Minister. Kuçi will also hold the Justice Minister post for the time being. During a joint press conference with the PDK leader Kadri Veseli, Mustafa said the changes made today will contribute to government’s efficiency and its goals. On the other hand, Veseli said the new appointments are part of the governance reforms.

Veseli: Thaci to be elected president this month (RTK)

The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) Deputy Leader and Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli said before party members in Prizren that the PDK leader Hashim Thaci will be elected president of Kosovo in the coming month. Veseli said there is no doubt that Thaci is the most deserving person to take on the post. Meanwhile, Enver Hoxhaj, also PDK deputy leader, said Thaci will be elected in a few weeks’ time.

Hoxhaj: Kosovo to apply for EU candidate status in three years (Lajmi)

Chairman of the Kosovo Assembly Foreign Affairs Committee Enver Hoxhaj said Kosovo aims to apply for EU candidate status within a three-year period. Hoxhaj, former Foreign Minister, made the comment in a press conference following a meeting with a group of Austrian officials. Hoxhaj said Austria is Kosovo’s partner in the visa liberalization process and stressed the importance of this support in pursuing Kosovo’s European integration journey.
